Prior to tanning try not to have a hot bath or shower, this will open up pores making the tan less likely to absorb deep into the skin, taking a shower and using an exfoliant the night before your day of tanning will remove dry and flaky skin, therefore, providing the best results for a longer lasting tan.
Shave the day prior to tanning, not the day of
Do not moisturize or put any kind of deodorant/anti-perspirant prior to tanning, this may react with the tanning solution and will also act as a barrier, preventing proper absorption of colour in the skin.
Wear dark, loose clothing and shoes that will not rub the skin after tanning and be prepared to wait about 8 hours before showering. So baggy sweats, loose top and flip flops are ideal.
Continuing to moisturize with a tan extender will make for a longer lasting tan. |
